Hi All.
I installed Snow Leopard on a motherboard processor that I took out of a vostro 230.
I installed Multibeast stuff basically just to get it to boot w/o iBoot, so i installed no extra kexts or drivers.
Now, I just wanted to get ethernet going. I tried installing the Snow Leopard Multibeast network kexts ONE AT A TIME (ie, i'd install one, restart, and if it didnt work, find it in System directory, delete the kext, disk utlity, repair drive permissions, reboot. You can imagine how cumbersome it got, i wish there were an easier way.)
The multibeast kexts didn't work. So the i tried following this guide: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10.8.1/Desktops#Dell_Vostro_230
and i googled BCM5722D.kext. I downloaded two different kinds. tried them both, again one at a time. still, nothing.
Am I doing something wrong? is there an easier way to do this? Is there a more difficult but more assured way to do it? Do I need to write my own kexts? If so, how do I do so?
Any assistance or advice would be much appreciated.
